We have been given yet another area of responsibility (we are going to be so talented we could get a job anywhere). We all get very excited when something new comes along and today it was working with the plants at the Plant Shop. Everything was taken off the tables, which were then cleaned down. Then we started on the plants, cutting off any dead leaves and flowers and removing moss, watering everything and raking up leaves. OK so it might sound pretty humdrum but not to us, we love working on something that produces a great result and this was to make everything inviting for the visitors. Also it was quite nice to work with straight backs for a change. We are not sure yet if this is going to be a weekly duty.
The Plant Shop now sells plants that have largely been propagated at Mount Stewart and plant sales have been good. Danielle propagates all these plants in the new Nursery area and has already started on the plants for next year.
