Volunteering for the National Trust had their annual recruitment day on Saturday at Mount Stewart. It is hoped that people making their New Year’s resolutions will choose a healthy, enjoyable and educational activity.

Mount Stewart is always looking for volunteers in all departments – conservation, helping with house and garden tours, event support, gardening, helping in the restaurant and shop, the list is almost endless.

At the Garden Stand we had a very positive response and hope to sign up some new volunteers. Garden volunteering is very rewarding, we work hard, learn from the gardeners and have great fun doing it all. We feel very privileged to be working in such an amazing garden with skilled gardeners explaining every aspect of the work.

If anyone is interested in joining any of the volunteering teams you will find information on www.nationaltrust.org.uk/mountstewart.
