Some wonderful terracotta pots have arrived at Mount Stewart. Beautifully plain, very large and perfect for the job. No ornate decoration taking away from the fabulous plants that have been put in. I want one. We had the honour today of planting up 5 of them and were very happy that we had been entrusted to do them.
The two above had been placed on tree stumps at the edge of the Mairi Garden so it was a matter of clinging on to the side of the pot with one hand and getting the plants in with the other. The fact that they are slightly hidden among foliage makes them very effective and are already being admired by visitors.
