Volunteer award ceremony

We had a wonderful afternoon today. The property team held a celebratory afternoon tea and award ceremony presenting Volunteer Long Service Awards. These are presented for 5 years and then 10, 15, 20, 25 and even an incredible 30 years volunteering.

Jon Kerr, Property Manager, thanked all the volunteers for the time and passion that we brought to the property and said the work we do is invaluable and that Mount Stewart and Strangford Lough literally could not operate without us. He said there are approximately 180 volunteers at Mount Stewart and Strangford Lough and last year alone we gave a massive 42,000 hours to the property.

The restaurant produced an amazing afternoon tea with scones and cream, every sort of homemade biscuits and cakes. So, thank you restaurant staff. A lot of thought and work had gone into the afternoon’s celebration and it was very much appreciated by all the volunteers. Our badges are very attractive and mine is shown above. It will be worn every Wednesday.
