I think today is a day for wonderful Spring flowers. What are these fuschias doing at this time of the year? This one is Fuschia ‘Mount Stewart’. How wonderful is that? Italian Garden.
Nothing needs to be said about these. Shamrock Garden.
Camellia x williamsii ‘St. Ewe’. Shamrock Garden.
Workwise some of us were working in the Propagation area heeling in penstemons that had been dug up from the Shamrock Garden yesterday. These have not yet been trimmed as the foliage gives some protection from the frost. They have been covered in fleece as heavy frost is forecast for Feb. We also pruned a lot of hydrangeas and dug out symphytum (comfrey) from various areas. A lot of winter debris was raked out in the Peace Garden. Cold day but sunny, perfect day for gardening.
